What is flexible packaging?
Flexible packaging is a group of non-rigid materials used to contain products. These malleable types of packaging can be shaped by products to fill the packaging entirely so there’s no empty or wasted space in the container. This makes flexible packaging and pouches an ideal choice for food and beverage and eCommerce packaging.

What materials do you use for flexible packaging?
We can manufacture flexible packaging from a wide range of materials, either with just one, or a layered combination of materials.
Plastic film (made of polyester, nylon, polypropylene, or polyethylene) is the most commonly used material for flexible containers, as it is highly resistant to damage in transit and storage. Paper and aluminium foil are also used to manufacture this packaging.

Is flexible plastic packaging recyclable?
At W.E.M Packaging, we use plastic materials that can be recycled after use, especially those for mailing bags and food packaging. However, it must be taken to designated collection points, like large supermarkets or recycling centres, rather than in household recycling bins.
Currently, our food packaging in flexible containers isn’t manufactured from recycled materials as it is made of three layers to keep food fresh right up to its expiry date.
